More about Rebekah
As a queer, biracial woman I believe in the importance of intersectional theory in my practise. I combine the attunement, co-regulation, and relational presence of attachment-based models and person-centred approach whilst utilising the practical tools of cognitive behavioural therapy. In this holistic approach to healing, I also blend somatic techniques and mindfulness practices into the journey.
I’m a qualified integrative psychotherapist, with an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Derby (2022) and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Northampton (2014). I've been practicing since 2019, working in both community and charity settings — including Counselling Matters Bexley, a low-cost counselling service, and Metro Charity, supporting LGBTQ+ clients. These early years deepened my belief in the power of accessible, compassionate therapy. After completing my training, I opened my private practice to offer a space where people can explore, feel, and reconnect — at their own pace and in their own way.
More about the therapy
Attachment-based therapy
A therapy focused on understanding how early life relationships shape current emotions and relationships. By exploring your past and attachment patterns together, we can develop strategies for healthier connections today.
Somatic, Trauma and Holistic practises
Somatic therapy uses body-based techniques like mindfulness, breathwork, and gentle movement to help stabilise and process stored trauma and restore balance between mind and body. Together, we’ll explore supportive practices-such as time in nature, creative expression, meditation, or journaling-to find what best supports your healing.
CBT helps improve emotional well-being by challenging unhelpful thoughts and building healthier coping strategies, leading to reduced distress and more positive,
adaptive behaviours.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Person-Centred Approach
A humanistic therapy that prioritizes your perspective and self-discovery, with the therapist supporting rather than directing, creating a supportive, non-judgmental space for you to lead the process and reach your full potential.
I recognise how different parts of our identities shape our experiences, especially for people from minoritised communities. With experience researching and supporting LGBTQ+ and global majority individuals, I am committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone.
Intersectional practise
Online or telephone sessions
Therapy is offered remotely via video or phone, providing a flexible alternative to in-person sessions. Whether you travel often or prefer the comfort of your own space, remote therapy makes support accessible wherever you are. My clients appreciate the ease & flexibility of this as they can meet from the comfort of their preferred space.
What is
“Withness”?
From a philosophical perspective, withness speaks to the deeply relational nature of being - it’s about being with, rather than doing to or standing apart from. It reflects an ethical, embodied presence where one person accompanies another in their experience, without judgment or the urge to fix. Rooted in ideas from phenomenology, existentialism, and dialogical philosophy, withness honours the interconnectedness of human experience, the mutual shaping of self and other, and the sacredness of presence.
Thinkers like Martin Buber spoke of the I–Thou relationship: where people meet one another in their full humanity, not as objects to be analysed or controlled. Similarly, Emmanuel Levinas emphasised responsibility to the other as a foundational ethical act. Withness therefore, is a mode of presence that is relational, responsive, and attuned - a kind of shared being that fosters healing, empowerment, and transformation.
Aided by the secure therapeutic connection alongside reconnecting with your intuition and body, you will have the space to develop a deeper understanding of and esteem in yourself.
I chose the word ‘withness’ for my practise because it implies presence, attunement, and a deep relational stance. Not fixing, not analysing from a distance - but accompanying you in your experience.
At the core of this practise, withness is a radical act of presence: to be with someone
in their truth, without agenda, simply holding space for
their becoming.
